April, 2011
This is the final week of the 5th marking period. We will have completed 50% of the course grade when this grade is recorded. Please be sure to continue to monitor the parent access system for tracking grades.

This week we will start on our major research project. Our trip to the library this week is the first of five visits that I have planned. Your student should be able to explain to you what they are working on and what progress they are making. The end result is a "dress rehearsal" for next year's Senior Thesis course. They will be creating a multi-source and multi-media project to present to the class on one of the final days of the school year. The presentation should be between 10 and 15 minutes in length.

Depending on what your student has previously submitted, there is one more Book Review or Mini Project for the current unit of study 1940-60. There are two more segments for Oral History. Oral History III is an interview with the grandparent generation person for the time frame of 1950 to 1970. Oral History IV is interviews with both the grandparent and parent generation people for the time frame of 1970 to 1990. The due dates for all these assignments are currently posted online on the tentative May and June calendars.

As always, if you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at the above email address or to call me at 215,233-6030 voice mail #2611.
Thank you, Alan Eickhoff

Greetings. Please note that due to Diversity Day replacing classes tomorrow, there has been a calendar change. The test for Chapter 26 has been canceled and is now simply going to be part of the Unit 8 test set for Friday 5/13.
Report cards will be issued on Monday 5/9, please contact me if you have any questions. These last 6 weeks and the exam are worth half of the entire course grade. Thank you, Alan Eickhoff (alan_eickhoff@sdst.org/215-233-6030#2611)
